It is always great to see my family. On this trip I realized there is a few things in life where I think, WOW i am sooo blessed to be in this position. One of those things is being apart of the Smith Family. And I know that our family is the way it is is because of my grandpa, my grandma and God. Our family is so wonderful and such a blessing in my life. We are built on a foundation of LOVE and FAITH.
I learned so much about my grandma this weekend. I can honestly say she is the strongest Christian I have ever met. She loved her savior more than I can imagine. The stories of her life inspire me.
My uncle shared with us what her doctor said. The Dr. shared with my aunts and uncles that she could tell my grandma was a specail woman. She said, she does not have the look on her face of a woman who had a hard life. However, that is not the case. My grandma did not chose the "easy" path. She was a missionary for around 40+ years. She raised 6 kids. She got her masters at a seminary when it was unheard of for woman to go to seminary, much less college or venture out alone. She went to a country where people were killed for their faith. Her and my grandpa helped start 3 churches. The whole time living by faith. She also lost her husband and son, that is not easy. However, my grandma chose the life of hope, joy and peace. My grandma has a lasting legacy that I get to be apart of.
My grandma lives on in her children and in her grandchildren. I am choosing to pick up where she left off and will continue to let everyone know that they are LOVED and can have the greatest love of all.
Here is the last picture of the entire family! Grandma and Grandpa. 6 children, 6 spouse, and 18 grandkids.
